[Barcelona, Spain, March 2, 2026] At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei and Shandong Port Group launched the Shandong Port Global Smart Port Showcase. Through close technical collaboration, the two parties have jointly developed an all-element intelligent scheduling solution, along with a smart production security solution powered by CV models.

The launch of this showcase represents a major breakthrough in applying AI models within the port industry, shifting from isolated applications to fully converged production elements. The all-element intelligent scheduling solution cuts port operation planning time from hours to minutes. Meanwhile, the CV model–based smart security system offers industry-leading accuracy in high-altitude recognition, effectively identifying potential safety hazards in terminal production. It upgrades port security from passive response to proactive prevention, greatly reducing operational risks. Qingdao Port, part of Shandong Port Group, is among China's first national pilot bases for AI applications, and the only one in the port sector. In 2025, It received a special commendation at the Transportation Foundation Model Agent Application Innovation Competition for its innovation.

CV model: Leading a new paradigm of smart security

Huawei and Shandong Port Group introduced a smart production security solution, which integrates CV models into critical port production links. The solution tackles the industry's toughest hurdles: complex operating conditions, human fatigue, and the frequent missed event alarms.

The solution combines AI vision algorithms with large model inference to automatically, accurately detect equipment anomalies and unauthorized access to hazardous areas in all weather conditions. It shifts port safety management from post-event tracing to proactive protection through early warnings and real-time intervention.

The global showcase marks a milestone in Huawei and Shandong Port Group's collaboration.
