Customer Background

Hotel Caravanserail is a three-star establishment nestled in the scenic Palm Garden tourist area of Nefta, a desert oasis town in southern Tunisia, about 480 km from the capital. The Hotel is located just 1.36 kilometers from the city center and 25 km from the Nefta–Tozeur Airport, surrounded by local attractions such as the Nefta Basket Monument and the Nefta Nature Reserve.

The property spans three hectares (30,000 m²) and features typical regional architecture, including stone-clad buildings and 150 spacious rooms. The hotel offers a relaxing and convenient stay with amenities including an outdoor swimming pool, lush gardens, a terrace, complimentary breakfast, massage services, and free on-site Wi-Fi and parking. Guest rooms are equipped with air conditioning, flat-screen satellite TVs, and, in some cases, views of the pool.

This is why the hotel has been selected by many tourists and organization. In fact, the hotel hosts an average of 20 events per year and welcomes around 5,000 guests annually. During peak season, it can accommodate up to 300 guests at one time. It's a popular destination for well-known actors and artists, especially during local festivals and film shoots.

Challenges and Pain Points

Despite its charming ambiance and services, Hotel Caravanserail faced significant connectivity issues. Constructed in 1988, the hotel’s aging infrastructure lacked proper internet facilities. Furthermore, the building's unique stone-based interior design posed serious challenges to traditional Wi-Fi solutions, significantly limiting signal penetration and coverage.

Additionally, the network usage profile varied greatly between public areas (like the reception and restaurant) and private zones (guest rooms), creating a demand for differentiated solutions that could handle varying data volumes effectively.
