[Bangkok, Thailand, June 14, 2024] Recently, the Huawei Global Railway Summit of Asia Pacific Rail 2024 was successfully held in Bangkok. At the event, Director of Overseas Railway Development Dept of Huawei Smart Transportation BU, Xiang Xi shared the solution "Leading Infrastructure to Accelerate Transportation Intelligence" and released "Smart Urban Rail All Optical Network technical whitepaper". This whitepaper proposes the next-generation urban rail all-optical network solution based on Huawei Fifth-Generation Fixed Network (F5G) technology, which builds a reliable foundation for high-quality urban rail development.

This white paper focuses on the development of cloud-based, intelligent, and networked urban rail operations and describes the scenarios such as multi-line transmission networks, single-line transmission networks, and all-optical access networks. It also highlights the advantages of the smart urban rail all-optical network solution, such as high security, high reliability, ultra-low latency, converged networking, and simplified O&M, which help to ensure safe, green, and efficient travel for passengers. This solution has the following advantages.
Security and reliability: Timeslot and wavelength hard slices achieve multi-service isolation with zero crosstalk, end-to-end deterministic millisecond-level latency deliver better experience, and device-level, network-level, and link-level protection ensure 99.999% availability.
Flexible capacity expansion: Based on the "gray + color light" innovative solution, the original 100G gray ring topology remains unchanged and only a few boards are required to support n x 10G color wavelengths expansion for new services. The entire network implements on-demand modular expansion, meeting future full-lifecycle evolution requirement.
Simplified O&M: With the AI powered intelligent management, control and analysis network management platform, the solution supports simplified O&M services such as resource visualization, online fiber detection and intelligent fault root cause analysis for the entire network.
To date, Huawei has been served more than 150,000 km of railways for over 300 urban rail lines across more than 70 cities worldwide. In the future, Huawei will continue to work with customers and partners for joint innovation and lay a foundation for sustainable evolution towards high-quality and intelligent urban rail transit development.
