DTGO Thailand: FTTO Lights up a Smart, Green Community
DTGO is a business-social organization with a diversified portfolio of projects. It was the first company in Thailand and one of four real estate enterprises globally to get certified under the World's Most Ethical Companies program.
DTGO focuses its real estate projects on sustainability and residents' well-being. Forestias is a community project that envisions a modern neighborhood built inside a forest, aiming to reconnect people with nature. Located in Bangkok's Bangna neighborhood, Forestias is the crown jewel of DTGO, backed by USD 4 billion in funding. The area is rich in natural resources and covers 65 hectares, consisting of multiple residential, park, community, and commercial areas.
Communities are becoming smarter with new technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), big data, and virtual reality (VR). These intelligent living spaces are changing the way we live and work. They aim to create a space for people to enjoy a high quality of life. As part of this effort, Forestias is making life greener by using the latest ICTs to interconnect everything in the community and optimize daily life.
As many countries set targets for net zero carbon, enterprises are replacing copper with fiber and adopting all-optical campus networks for next-generation smart campuses. For Forestias, DTGO partnered with Huawei, deploying Huawei's FTTO solution to build a green and fully-connected ICT infrastructure network.
At HC2022 Bangkok, Kittikun Potivanakul, CTO of DTGO, delivered a keynote highlighting the project's benefits, particularly in terms of environmental protection for the entirety of the Forestias project.
Huawei's FTTO solution is green and efficient in construction, operations, and maintenance, making it the ideal choice for smart campuses. According to Kittikun Potivanaku, the solution delivers a premium network experience to Forestias residents and enables innovative business models. DTGO will continue to work with partners like Huawei to build smarter campuses using the latest ICT technologies.
