HUAWEI eLTE Solution Facilitates Exxaro Pit Network

EXXARO is a top coal mine company in South Africa, and the largest energy coal supplier for Eskom. As an open pit mine of EXXARO, Leeuwpan has an annual output of 3.65Mtpa of thermal coal. In 2016 Exxaro planned to start a strategic initiative to support its organization transformation to reduce costs and improve efficiency. Upgrading pit network is the priority to transforming from traditional mining to digitalized mining operations. A reliable pit network and seamless data transfer is important to assist with real-time fleet management. The network makes truck dispatching accurately throughout the mine operations. The pit network is successfully based on eLTE network communication platform to translate to a 30% reduction in corporate communication network, increase in 200-300% efficiency and productivity.
