Keynote speech by Xia Zun, President of the Global Public Sector, Huawei

During his speech, Mr. Xia Zun, President of the Global Public Sector, Huawei said, "As a leading global ICT infrastructure and solutions provider, Huawei actively participates and supports digital transformation of global governments, and lays a solid digital foundation for the long-term development of cities, regions, and countries." South Africa has always been a market highly valued by Huawei. Indeed, Huawei set up a subsidiary in South Africa in 1998, and currently employs over 1400 staff who work closely with 1000 partners to promote the digital transformation of the South African government. Since the start of the pandemic, Huawei has provided network connection services for 3000 schools and 600 hospitals in South Africa, helping hundreds of thousands of students enjoy high-quality distance education during the pandemic so that they can keep up with their studies. Huawei is committed to providing more applications and services through the government cloud, and actively participates in the development of South Africa's cloud computing draft to contribute to the construction of Digital South Africa.

The South African government's service applications become increasingly complex while the coverage of provincial/municipal network nodes gradually increases. On top of this, the public experience requirements are more demanding than ever. To address these challenges, Huawei proposes the "one cloud, one network + public services" model to help the South African government sail through digital transformation and improve public service quality. In terms of cloud services, Huawei fully understands the cloud service requirement of governments at all levels, which is to switch from "cloud access" to "cloudification". Huawei's Government Cloud Solution delivers better government service experience through innovation and rapid deployment. In addition, it supports multi-level Operations & Maintenance (O&M) to improve efficiency and simplify management. It also builds a full-stack security protection system to ensure secure and trustworthy public services. When it comes to the network, Huawei proposes the Government Cloud Network Solution based on optical and IP products. With this solution, customers can build a platform that supports collaborative command, real-time scheduling, and end-to-end linkage. This solution also enables governments to build digital, intelligent, and service-oriented networks.

In the future, Huawei will stay true to its "platform + ecosystem" strategy, continuously optimize the ecosystem, and build more first-class scenario-based solutions with partners. By building an ecosystem that features openness, collaboration, and shared success, Huawei strives to propel capability sharing among industry players.
