The number of ransomware attacks has surged in recent years, and the damage is spreading across industries, including power companies with data as their core assets. Once attacked, power companies may suffer power system interruption, economic losses, and major security accidents, as summarized by Fan Jie, Director of Huawei Data Storage Marketing Solution Sales Dept.

Secure data environment is key to digital space security of electric power. To help protect the data security of power companies, Huawei has developed the storage ransomware protection solution. The solution builds a four-level system, starting at the data layer to protect the security of data environments: the production end detects and intercepts ransomware attacks in time; local storage security snapshots are used to implement service recovery in seconds; local backup helps recover services within hours; and Air-Gap isolates the data in a secure zone to help quickly restore services.

Leveraging decades of ICT Innovation and R&D experience, Huawei has established six Network Security and Privacy Protection Transparency Centers around the globe. In 2021, Huawei obtained over 70 network security certificates and 35 authorized economic operator (AEO) certificates in 28 countries and regions. By far, Huawei has supported many power companies with its secure and reliable storage ransomware protection solution. The solution builds the last line of defense for power data security.
