Huawei Enables Campuses into Intelligence and Low Carbon

Sep 23, 2021

[Shenzhen, China, September 23, 2021] During Huawei Connect 2021, Huawei held the Intelligent Campus Session on 'Diving into Campus Digitalization, Creating New Value Together'. More than 2000 industry experts, enterprises, and partners gathered together online, to explore innovation in intelligent campuses and seek ways to develop the industry.

Huawei has dived into campus digitalization, and has built intelligent campus solutions based on digital platforms. With Huawei Cloud, Huawei opens its capabilities to partners through their digital platform, enabling partners to develop service applications that meet customer requirements, and is helping customers such as industry parks, stadiums, and manufacturing campuses achieve digital transformation. Together with Juss Sports, Huawei will provide intelligent solutions for Shanghai Stadium and build a smart capability system that matches its development goals. With the increasing intelligence of the system, economic, social, and management benefits will be improved.

In terms of economic benefits, through information release and video distribution, customer will increase the sales revenue and sponsor value. Active monitoring maintenance of stadium equipment is supported by intelligent campus solutions, which will reduce the manpower input and extend the service life of equipment by about 10%.

In terms of social benefits, the public experience, event services and stadium operation assurance will be comprehensively improved. At the same time, the operation and service capability of stadiums is optimized, the service level for mass sports is improved, and the sports industry ecosystem is developed.

In terms of management benefits, the intelligent operation center enables visualized, controllable, and manageable operation of the stadium, improving incident handling efficiency by about 50%.

A low carbon strategy is vigorously pursued by society, which means that a country like China is in a critical period of energy transformation. The achievement of the "carbon peak and neutrality" goal is both a challenge and an opportunity. In this process, energy structure reform is decentralized, distributed generation is developed, and microgrids are widely deployed in campuses. Carbon emissions, carbon emission reductions, and carbon investments are all occurring in campuses.

Meng Jianmin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering said campuses are the main carriers of China's digital economic development and the key for realizing a low carbon strategy. With ICT technologies building intelligent campus solutions to achieve efficient facility operations and energy conservation and emission reduction. I'm looking forward to seeing more enterprises and organizations join in, which will accelerate the development process of green buildings and high-quality parks!

Wu Zhiqiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, said intelligent campus is the base of the digital world. It is an iterative process from digitalization and intelligence to low carbonization. In this process, a number of revolutionary advanced technologies, innovative applications, and models will be generated. Intelligent campus will face rapid development in the future. It is expected that digital technologies and architecture will be integrated in depth, bringing profound changes to the industry.

Tan Hongwei, Professor of Tongji University, said technological empowerment, low-carbon creation, demonstration and leadership, and the gradual evolution from low-carbon buildings, to low-carbon parks, to carbon neutral cities, and finally to, carbon neutral societies are challenges and expectations that we must face.

Su Baohua, president of the Intelligent Campus Business of Huawei Enterprise BG, said reaching the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality" is both a challenge and an opportunity. Under this low carbon strategy, a number of integrated energy efficiency operators will emerge. Those that follow this trend and embrace all changes will have a future.

Zhang Haiping, director of the Product Portfolio Solution Sales Dept of Huawei Enterprise BG,said ICT is a bridge between the physical world and the digital world. It realizes information digitization by sensing and connecting the physical world. ICT technologies is critical to the continuous evolution of campuses.

Wang Siyuan, deputy general manager of Shanghai Juss Sports Development (Group) Co., Ltd, said for many years, Juss Sports has been deeply involved in the sports industry. We should actively undertake the task of digital transformation in Shanghai. We hope to work with Huawei to enable sports through science and technology to jointly build world-leading intelligent stadiums.

We are in a new era, and the intelligent campus is helping to usher in a new vigorous development. Facing the future, Huawei is willing to work with customers and partners to build a safe, green, and intelligent campus. The Intelligent campus solution supports the implementation of a low carbon strategy, furthermore it supports low carbon cities, towns, and rural areas. The implementation of low carbon in each campus supports the implementation of the country's low carbon strategy.
