[Shanghai, China, September 19, 2024] During HUAWEI CONNECT 2024, the University of Hong Kong ("HKU" for short) and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement. According to the agreement, Huawei and HKU will deepen cooperation, better complement each other's advantages, and help the education industry cultivate talent and innovate scientific research. The two parties will carry out cooperation in ICT infrastructure innovation, brand marketing, and showcase building over the next two years. This will help HKU build a smart campus, cultivate high-quality talent, and promote digital transformation of the education industry.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by leaders from both parties, including Vincent Liu, President of Global Enterprise Network Marketing & Solution Sales Dept,Huawei; Flora Ng, CIO and University Librarian of HKU; Aaron Wang, Managing Director of Enterprise Business of Hong Kong Representative Office, Huawei; Jason He, President of Global Enterprise Data Communication Network Marketing & Solution Sales Dept,Huawei; and Jim Bi, Vice President of ICT Marketing & Solution Sales Dept of Hong Kong Representative Office, Huawei.

Vincent Liu said, "HKU, as a world-leading university, has outstanding advantages in talent cultivation and scientific research innovation. Through this strategic agreement, Huawei hopes to further deepen its cooperation with HKU, promote in-depth exploration and practices in innovative scenarios, such as smart campus building and AI training, continuously provide high-quality ICT infrastructure equipment and services for HKU, and promote in-depth integration of academia and industry."

Flora Ng said, "Huawei is a leading global provider of ICT infrastructure and smart devices, and is committed to creating more value through innovative technologies. HKU has been working closely with Huawei in campus networks and high-performance computing. We hope that Huawei will provide more innovative products and solutions in the future and both sides will deepen all-round cooperative research by leveraging each other's strengths."
According to the agreement, the two parties will work together to deepen cooperation in more fields. Huawei will use the advantages of HKU in terms of academic level, teaching resources, and research results, and leverage expertise to deliver more fruits, ultimately promoting the cultivation and development of local talent in Hong Kong.
