How long has Symmetry been cooperating with Huawei?

We have been a part of Huawei’s partner ecosystem for nine years now. Huawei is one of our key partners in the field of server and mass storage solutions, as well as network technologies. We provide maintenance and warranty services for all the mass storage and server solutions in Huawei’s portfolio.

How do you feel about this partnership?

Our long-standing collaboration with Huawei has been extremely productive. We also rely on fantastic support from S4E, Huawei's largest Value Added Distributor (VAD) in Poland.

Which projects with Huawei have stood out for you?

Since our founding, we have used Huawei products for projects with the biggest companies and institutions in Poland. One example I can point to is the modernization of LAN devices, using Huawei technology, at branches of ZUS, the Polish social insurance institution. And, in 2018, we were the first to deliver the all-flash storage systems of Huawei Dorado 6000 V3 to the Polish market, when we provided the product to the Ministry of Finance’s IT Center. A year later we became one of the few Polish companies certified as a Huawei Gold Partner. We gained this recognition due to our exceptional sales performance and extensive expertise in Huawei server systems, mass storage, and network solutions.

What exactly does being a Huawei Gold Partner mean?

It means we have the necessary certifications — such as Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCIA) and Huawei Certified Pre-sales Associate (HCPA) in the storage domain — for implementation and pre-sales and after-sales support. Huawei Tier 2 Gold Partner status is the highest level of partnership available, demonstrating our competence in terms of professional support and engineering expertise. We can implement even the most complex projects with Huawei technology. Our long collaboration has been very successful, and I am convinced it will continue to be mutually rewarding well into the future.

What do you think about the quality of Huawei solutions and services?

There is no doubt that Huawei solutions are of the highest quality. Huawei is a valued business partner and supplier of advanced mass storage systems, servers, and network devices. With heavy investment in R&D, Huawei provides their customers with the best products and solutions available. So it's no surprise that the company is a strong competitor in the global enterprise solutions market and considered a leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for hybrid flash and all-flash arrays. Huawei also possesses extensive maintenance systems and provides us with excellent service, responding to our needs quickly and efficiently. Of course, our end customers benefit most from this, and a focus on them is a key priority Symmetry and Huawei share.

Why do you think Huawei has the potential to grow further?

Huawei has developed significantly in recent years and become a global leader in the technology industry. Although most well-known as a mobile phone company, the company holds an ever stronger position in the market for global enterprise solutions. Indeed, Huawei's success is representative of China's economic growth overall. Now standing as the second largest economy in the world, China provides a firm foundation for the international expansion of Huawei. The brand has come a long way since its birth in 1987. And throughout its 33-year history, Huawei has overcome many obstacles to become a global giant, competing with the biggest players in the market. The company has never stopped innovating and boasts a full portfolio of products with advanced network solutions, as well as cloud and AI services. Which Huawei solutions are most popular with Symmetry's clients? And why?

Huawei is an established brand in the Polish market. Our clients recognize that Huawei solutions can contribute to their business growth and, as such, they frequently purchase network switches, routers, and wireless solutions, including distributed WLAN architecture. But Huawei’s OceanStor mass storage solution is of particular interest to our clients due to its strengths in comparison to competing products. Most recently, there has been a lot of focus on Huawei OceanStor Dorado, a high-speed and reliable solution, powered by AI. Its architecture effectively prevents downtime, supporting the continuous, uninterrupted operation of key systems. And as its all-flash technology stores large datasets, the product’s compression and deduplication help slash operational costs by 75%, while uptime stands at 99.9999%. Furthermore, the active-active cluster — HyperMetro — comprises two matrices that can be physically separated by a very great distance. The OceanStor Dorado is a mass storage system with a next generation computing platform, SmartMatrix architecture, five smart systems, and the FlashLink smart algorithm. Its E2E NVMe architecture delivers unprecedentedly reliable performance of up to 20 million IOPS. I think, listing all of that, it should be clear “why” our clients are excited by this product.
