Huawei at Hannover Messe:
Intelligent Factories for the Automated Future

Hannover, Germany

[Hannover, Germany, April 1, 2025] There is significant scope for automation in industrial production. It's no surprise, then, that the topic of "Smart Factory" is high on the agenda at Hannover Messe 2025. The Chinese technology company Huawei, a global leader in ICT infrastructure and smart devices, will showcase a cross-section of what is possible and already successfully in use at its booth (Hall 14, K52).

Huawei has more than 30 years of experience in the electronics industry. 40 automotive factories, 1,500 customers from the electronics industry, as well as numerous mechanical engineering and light industry companies in 60 countries rely on the company for production digital and intelligent development. The ecosystem, from which innovative and industry-oriented solutions repeatedly emerge, is based on close partnerships with more than 1,500 companies.

Huawei focuses on industrial networks and cloud platforms that connect the industrial devices offered by the partners and host the industrial software developed by them. This creates a secure end-to-end solution that supports the digital transformation of industrial customers.

By promoting core technologies in fundamental disciplines, breakthroughs in network technology, the iteration of cloud computing, and driving innovation in AI intelligence, Huawei has gained industry experience across the entire value chain. Industry customers can now be supported in accelerating their digital and intelligent development.

In the automotive sector, for example, Huawei manufacturing processes are used to optimize the integration of three workflows. In the JAC Motors factory, more than 10,000 production devices are connected via multiple connectivity methods, including 5G, Wi-Fi, and optical connections. The industrial internet platform developed by Huawei collects and uploads data from all factory facilities and integrates it into business processes. This "data lake" connects IT and operational technology and supports a seamless data flow in the areas of R&D, manufacturing, delivery, and sales.

Huawei has gained a wealth of practical experience in research and development as well as in manufacturing over the past 30 years as a manufacturing company, which will be on display at the Hannover Messe: In the "Lean Production" exhibition area, Huawei will showcase the deep integration of digital intelligence technologies into business scenarios such as factory planning and control, production processes, quality control, plant management, and safety management. It is evident that the next generation of integrated production networks has a unified architecture based on industrial internet platforms and newly developed AI solutions for visual inspection. In this way, production lines can be improved to contribute to the development of intelligent, environmentally and climate-friendly factories.

Based on unique intelligent antennas and Wi-Fi 7 technology, Huawei solutions offer strong coverage and high bandwidth and resolve industrial frequency conflicts in three frequency bands. In addition, lossless roaming for AGV (Automated Guided Vehicle) carts enables intelligent planning, while industrial data acquisition supports IT/OT data integration. Huawei's industrial switches offer multi-protocol support and multiple interfaces with visualized ring network topologies.

The Industrial Internet Platform "FusionPlant" presented in Hannover includes five core functions: industrial IoT, industrial data, industrial intelligence, industrial applications, and a marketplace for enterprise applications. This platform can work with system integrators (SIs) and independent software vendors (ISVs) to develop customized solutions for customers.

In the "Innovation Acceleration" exhibition area, Huawei presents the application of the latest technologies, such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence, in enterprise innovation. For example, Huawei's large Pangu model enables innovations in industrial AI applications, while partners develop collaborative multi-robot solutions for production lines and intelligent driving R&D solutions based on the Huawei Cloud. Companies can also improve product R&D efficiency through wireless and storage infrastructures.

"Huawei has all the enablement technologies for the digitalization of production processes, and we are always ready to work with potential customers in Germany to make production processes more digital and smarter," comments Jörg Karpinski, Sales Director Germany, EBG and Director Public Business Germany, EBG.
