[Chengdu, China, May 12, 2023] This year's Panda Forum on Power and Energy (PandaFPE 2023) saw Huawei win two awards for Best Paper and Best Report. Out of 700 papers, "EneversE: An Innovative Ternary Framework for Carbon Neutrality towards Future Energy", published by Huawei's Electric Power Digitalization BU, made it to the top after a rigorous review by 240 professors and industry experts. In addition, Dr. Hu Hao delivered a themed report, which was also awarded as a Best Report.
Opening ceremony of PandaFPE 2023
Themed "Low-Carbon Power Systems and Digitalization", the forum was co-organized by the Sichuan Society for Electrical Engineering, State Grid Sichuan, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, and IEEE. More than ten academicians and fellows, as well as over 700 experts and enterprise representatives attended the event.
Dr. Hu Hao delivering a themed report
Dr. Hu Hao, President of the Strategy Dept of Huawei's Electric Power Digitalization BU, delivered a special report entitled "Digitalization Helps Build New Power Systems and Promotes the Green and Sustainable Development of Energy Systems". In the report, he pointed out that the world is facing severe challenges on energy security and climate change and there is a rapidly increasing demand for new energy. Energy transition, zero-carbon transformation and digital transformation will be a daunting and complex task in the long run. To address the challenges, Huawei proposed the T3 transformation model, composing of a series of methodologies on strategy, management, business, and technical domains. The key to T3 transformation lies in the construction of a new power system, which is the foundation of achieving economic energy production, and a key measure to ensure sustainable energy security. Huawei is committed to paving a digital road for energy transition and carbon neutrality through digital transformation, promoting the safe, efficient, green, and sustainable development of the energy sector.
The new power system has been implemented and is a proven success in the green, low-carbon, multi-energy complementary smart zero-carbon campus project, which already won the Global Champion Award for Green Development at WSIS 2022, and was selected as one of the Top 10 Global Projects of the 2022 Paulson Prize for Sustainability. Dr. Hu Hao's special report was highly received among participants and online.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is a professional association for electronic and electrical engineering, covering a wide variety of domains including energy, telecommunications, electronics and transportation. Organized by IEEE PES, the second largest association of IEEE, the Forum on Power and Energy is widely recognized in the global energy field and is one of the most influential academic events centered on energy.
