With the seemingly unstoppable global trend toward urbanization, traffic congestion seems set to plague city roads, complicating traffic management and control. Indeed, according to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 1.35 million people are already killed every year as a direct result of road traffic accidents, costing most countries approximately 3% of their Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Urban traffic managers are in urgent need of new Information and Communications Technology (ICT) to improve road safety and traffic law enforcement efficiency.
Empowered by new technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing, and 5G, Huawei's Intelligent Traffic Management Solution provides traffic management with "Sharp Eyes" and a "Powerful Brain," combined with greatly simplified Operations and Maintenance (O&M) to help transportation departments build an ICT-enabled urban road environment.
The module uses Huawei's Software-Defined Cameras (SDCs) and edge computing units to collect traffic data in an all-round, all-element, all-weather, all-time, and all-place manner, integrating data, image, and video streams. After analysis and convergence, the three streams enter the "Powerful Brain" module in the traffic command center. In addition, Huawei's latest AI micro-light checkpoint cameras emit driver-friendly light, reducing light pollution caused by flashing lights.
The module serves as the traffic management center. It analyzes data and diagnoses traffic congestion in real-time to enable quick response to, and rapid handling of traffic incidents. The "Powerful Brain" enables intelligent off-site law enforcement based on a video cloud platform. Customers can use existing video surveillance sites on the live network to detect traffic violations and other vehicle-related incidents. Through comprehensive data analysis, the system detects potential risks before incidents occur, effectively enabling intelligent prevention.
Integrated site design enables all-scenario adaptation and flexible deployment. Remote intelligent network management and visualized service management greatly improve O&M efficiency.
Software-Defined Cameras (SDCs) offer multi-algorithm support, with online upgrades available. End-edge-cloud coordination for video and picture analysis, with the signal machine adaptively adjusting the signal state based on traffic analysis.
SDC scene adaption captures images clearly and in greater detail, supporting vehicle big data, multidimensional data collision, and accurate vehicle search.
Hundreds of millions of vehicle data can be retrieved in seconds, with second-level response allowing for a blacklist alert of 100,000 base libraries. Rapid congestion and event location, supporting effective relief of traffic.
