The German car parts dealer KTS American Parts needed a new solution for backing up its company data as the warranty for the existing Huawei storage system had expired. The company chose to further work with Huawei and opted for a future-proof solution based on Huawei OceanStor Dorado 2000.

Growing IT Infrastructure

KTS American Parts had already been using a Huawei storage unit for several years. When the warranty expired, the company looked for a new solution and examined products from various manufacturers. "The relevant selection criteria for us were performance and stability. It is simply important to us that all processes run smoothly - as was the case with the previous storage solution from Huawei," says Ivanovic. When it comes to service and support, the retailer also attaches great importance to fast response times. After careful evaluation the choice was made for Huawei OceanStor Dorado 2000. “Although we also considered other manufacturers, our positive experience with Huawei encouraged us to continue to rely on OceanStor Dorado and All-Flash Storage,” says Ivanovic. "Of course, the economic view of the price-performance ratio was also a decisive factor. From our point of view, Huawei is the undisputed number one in the market."

Efficient Data Access

Huawei OceanStor Dorado 2000 has brought KTS American Parts numerous advantages. The storage system is characterized by high performance and reliability. The solution supports the company's daily work with fast and secure data access. This is particularly important at KTS for regular standard processes such as photo processing. However, the applications developed in-house, such as the ERP system and the warehouse management solution, also rely on a stable and powerful IT infrastructure. With the new system, KTS is expanding its storage capacity to up to 46 terabytes. Depending on requirements, the company can order additional hard disks from Huawei and thus react flexibly to further data growth.

In addition to the outstanding performance, the availability and stable data access times are particularly impressive. "Both the standard programs used by our employees and our individual applications run flawlessly. Load peaks are optimally distributed and enable us to operate efficiently throughout," says Ivanovic. Thanks to the storage expansion, the company has more capacity for system back-ups and backup copies of existing systems. Ivanovic is also satisfied with Huawei's support: “For urgent queries, such as licenses, the support team gets back to us within ten minutes and provides us with the information we need.”
