IT Management

Huawei IT Management provides integrated management for storage devices, servers, VMs, with easy means of querying the capacity, visualized monitoring of performances, and available services. In this way, eSight streamlines the O&M process, which lowers the skill requirements of O&M engineers and ensures stable services for enterprises.

Cluster Management
  • Provides information about basic cluster configurations, CPU and memory utilization statistics, host distribution statistics, and VM distribution statistics, through which O&M engineers can quickly understand the basic information about clusters
  • Provides analysis on historical statistics of the CPU and memory utilization to offer the basis for system and resource optimization
  • On the large screen, O&M engineers can monitor the CPU utilization and memory utilization of the top N clusters with the highest CPU and memory utilization in multiple cloud platforms, so that they can understand the real-time resource utilization of the top N clusters
Host Management
  • Provides information about basic host configurations, CPU and memory utilization statistics, and VM distribution statistics, to support the association between cloud platform systems, clusters, and physical servers, and to improve the O&M efficiency
  • Provides effective basis for the system optimization through historical data analysis on the CPU, memory, and disk utilization, as well as on the inbound/outbound traffic rates of NICs and disk read/write rate
  • On the large screen, O&M engineers can monitor the CPU, memory, and disk utilization, as well as the disk read/write rate of top N hosts in multiple cloud platforms, so that they can understand the real-time resource utilization of the top N clusters, and perform timely O&M management
VM Management
  • Provides historical and statistical curves of key indicators for the VM CPU, memory, and disk utilization, as well as the inbound/outbound traffic rate of NICs, disk read/write rate, and disk read/write latency. Therefore, O&M engineers can understand the historical running status of VMs
  • With eSight, O&M engineers can know the running status of all VMs under the same host, and then analyze the takeover situation of physical ports, CPUs, and memory resources, to determine whether the fault of a VM is caused by other VMs under the same host
  • Through topology views, eSight helps O&M engineers understand the associations between VMs, hosts, clusters, and cloud platform systems, as well as the associated resources status, alarm statistics, and KPIs, so that O&M engineers can quickly understand the association between the VM and the physical resources, and then locate faults
  • In the Network Element Manager, O&M engineers can analyze the inbound/outbound traffic volume of the VM, and can perform detailed analysis based on the specific time range, application, and session
  • With eSight, the top N VMs with CPU and memory utilization higher than 60% and disk utilization higher than 90% will be displayed on the large screen, so that O&M engineers can know the VMs with the highest resource utilization rates, and perform a timely O&M management
  • With eSight, O&M engineers can designate VMs of VIP tenants as key monitoring targets, and then on the home page or large screen to monitor the KPIs, such as the VM status, utilization of the CPU, memory and disks respectively, inbound/outbound traffic rates of NICs, disk read/write rate, and disk read/write latency

  • Provides graphical server status information on the visualized panel to display real-time server status in a visualized manner

  • Provides the remote KVM function to facilitate administrators to perform operations on servers remotely

  • Monitors multiple indicators, including I/O latency, IOPS, bandwidth, disk utilization, and CPU utilization to display the performance status of storage devices in real time
Storage Capacity Analysis
  • Provides historical reports and trend analysis on key resources such as the network capacity and storage capacity to help O&M engineers optimize and expand the capacity of storage systems
Storage Network Analysis
  • Displays the status of connections between storage devices and the network, as well as that of hosts, switches, and storage devices on the network clearly to help O&M engineers determine fault impacts, improving fault diagnosis efficiency
Visualized Resources
  • Resource view: Visually displays the logical relationships between ports of devices, controllers, LUNs, block storage pool, and disks.
  • Mapping view: Visually displays the mapping relationships between LUNs, host groups, hosts (initiators), port groups, and ports.
Storage Report
  • Capacity reports for SAN: Includes those for arrays, LUNs, storage pools, thin LUNs, and thin pools.
  • Capacity reports for NAS: Includes those for storage units, thin pools, thin LUNs, file engines, file storage pools, file system shares, file systems, and data disks.
  • Performance statistical reports: Includes those for controllers, front-end hosts’ ports, disks, storage pools, and LUNs.
  • Capacity prediction reports: Includes those for the capacity trends over one day, one week, or one month.
Health Evaluation
  • Based on the status of physical and logical components, faults, as well as alarms and performances, an evaluation model can be developed to give health evaluation scores for storage devices and to locate problems.
Heterogeneous Device Management
  • Manages storage devices of EMC, NetApp, IBM, HP, Inspur, DFT, and Sugon, as well as switches of Brocade and QLogic FC.
