[Dubai, UAE, October 15, 2024] During GITEX GLOBAL 2024, Huawei jointly released the National Smart City Solution with partners including Freedo Technology, Isoftstone Smart Technology and RayChange Technology. This initiative aims to integrate innovative ICTs with China's transformation experience in smart city development, driving progress in overseas smart city construction.
Huawei jointly released the National Smart City Solution with partners including Freedo Technology, Isoftstone Smart Technology, and RayChange Technology. As urban development progresses, the complexity of city governance increases, leading to heightened security management challenges and rising public expectations for urban services. This necessitates an upgrade in smart urban management methods, making it imperative to promote continuous digital transformation through new architectures and technologies.
Leveraging its industry-leading ICTs, Huawei is building an integrated intelligent system that coordinates cloud, network, edge, terminal, big data, AI, IoT, and industry applications to create a future-ready technical architecture for digital cities.
Based on the City Intelligent Twins framework and new digital infrastructure development, Huawei is working with global partners to deliver a smart city solution that streamlines urban governance data and continuous operations. This approach facilitates smooth city operations and self-optimization, accelerating the comprehensive intelligence of cities for efficient governance.
Wang Bin, President of the Marketing & Solution Sales Dept of Government Public Services Digitalization BU, Huawei, said: “Driven by the dual forces of business demands and technological advancements, smart city development has entered a new phase. New smart cities emphasize intelligent risk warning and refined governance, characterized by digital twins, data sharing, and AI technologies, which enhance urban intelligence and efficient decision-making to reshape urban competitiveness.”
Warren Li, Senior Vice President of Freedo Technology, a key partner of Huawei, delivered an open speech named "Reshaping Smart Cities: The Revolution of Digital Twins". He stated that: "The development of digital twins involves mapping the physical world in virtual space and using virtual data for feedback control of the physical world. As AI technologies advance, digital twins have become platforms for perceiving, managing, and simulating the real world.
During the event, Huawei showcased advanced solutions, including the Smart City IOC (Intelligent Operation Center), scenario-based government services, and government foundation models, highlighting how these can effectively enhance urban governance. The IOC integrates urban sensing, operational statistics, and decision analysis functions, serving as the "central hub" for city management. The scenario-based government services utilize AI assistants to create thoughtful and responsive public services. The government foundation models empower data for lower-level operations and applications for higher-level needs, establishing the source of urban intelligence.
Huawei's advanced ICT infrastructure and smart applications significantly enhance urban operation, management, services, safety, and development, already serving over 200 cities globally.
Looking ahead, Huawei's Government Public Services Digitalization BU will continue to collaborate with global partners and contribute to smart city construction with cutting-edge ICTs, enabling cities to perceive, think, evolve, and connect with citizens.
