New Design/Build Data Centre Project of the Year: Build Smart Data Centre with Partner

The award is granted to a colocation data centre in the Middle East. The data centre owner plans to deploy a data centre of 1000 racks to develop Colocation business. The traditional way would have taken over 32 months to construct such size and ROI would be as long as 8.8 years. It would be far from business requirement. The customer chose Huawei prefabricated modular data centre and it only took 14 months to complete the deployment. Meanwhile, it adopt Huawei new generation smart cooling solution to reduce the power consumption by 24%. ROI was shorten from 8.8 years to 6.8 years. Besides, the DC obtained Uptime Tier III Design and Facility certificate.

Data Centre Power Innovation of the Year: Huawei SmartLi UPS Builds Reliable Backup Power

Comparing with the lead-acid batteries, Huawei SmartLi UPS saves the footprint by more than 50% in an end-to-end manner. It doesn’t require replacement within 10 years, which greatly reduces the OPEX of data centre. Huawei SmartLi UPS innovatively adopts AI technology to predict capacitor lifespan, fan lifespan, temperature of key nodes and battery capacity, etc. It transforms the passive proactive to AI predictive maintenance. Additionally, SmartLi takes active current equalization technology that enable hybrid use of old and new batteries. Working together with Huawei modular UPS, the SmartLi UPS supports flexible capacity expansion that reduce the investment risk and TCO.
