The Best Price-quality Ratio and Support

Recognizing these challenges, Acibadem City Clinic sought a way to modernize its infrastructure. The selection process prioritized efficient communication, reliable partnership and cutting-edge technology, including All-flash storage and Wi-Fi 7 solutions in all hospital rooms. The evaluation of various solutions took approximately six months, during which the requirements increased. Meanwhile, upgrading the cardiology center of Acibadem City Clinic and turning it into Acibadem City Clinic University Hospital Vitosha to a new address meant expanding the user base, increasing storage and server needs and additional licensing considerations. Another key requirement was the availability of local infrastructure to support the design of the already existing one. The ideal solution had to contain the best price-quality ratio, be able to be implemented in a short time and have reliable and fast support - key to the IT team of Acibadem City Clinic, which depends on manufacturers and external IT service providers.

Solution: High Performance of All-Flash Storage and Wi-Fi 7

Huawei won the tender by presenting the best innovative solution that preserves the existing infrastructure design while meeting all requirements, including the necessary time frame. The package also includes 5 years of maintenance, which was key to choosing Huawei. The implementation was a common effort between Huawei and the Acibadem City Clinic team, sticking to a tight schedule. The process began in mid-October and was completed on 1 December 2024. The transition from the old core to the new infrastructure took place in less than three hours, minimizing concerns for employees and patients.

A look at the New Infrastructure

The All-flash storage solution is designed as a 3-layer architecture for 99.9999% access and offers high performance in product operations, fast backup and data recovery, as well as archiving. Additionally, Huawei OceanProtect provides secure backup. Huawei DME Appliance (Data Management Engine) enables centralized infrastructure management, including hardware monitoring, anomaly detection, and data management.

In addition to the storage environment, Huawei also adapted the hospitals' WLAN to the new requirements. For this purpose, Huawei equipped the buildings with Wi-Fi 7, core and access switches from the Huawei CloudEngine Series and Huawei AirEngine Access Points (APs).
