Huawei and Wentzo Renew Wi-Fi Network at Groevenbeek Christian Secondary School

Seamless connectivity for thousands of students

Christelijk College Groevenbeek is a renowned educational institution in the Netherlands with locations in Ermelo and Putten. The college faced the challenge of providing a more stable Wi-Fi network for its diverse educational offerings. With nearly 3,000 students attending the school's two locations, moving through buildings and across the campus between classes, a robust and scalable solution was required. “For us, the Wi-Fi network is truly part of the educational process and a critical component. Without good Wi-Fi, teaching would partially come to a halt,” says Roeland Goosen, Head of the ICT Department at Groevenbeek Christian Secondary School.

Wentzo implements Huawei network infrastructure

To meet these requirements, the college chose enterprise solutions from Huawei, implemented by secure networking partner Wentzo. The installation included a powerful Wi-Fi network on the basis of switches, access points, and firewalls that form a comprehensive network environment. Wentzo, a specialist in secure networks, has been using its own cloud platform based on Huawei's CloudCampus since 2022, hosted in its own data center. This platform allows Wentzo to offer Network-as-a-Service solutions perfectly tailored to their customers' needs. “We are very satisfied with Huawei's network solution. We have previously used hardware from other companies and are convinced that Huawei offers a better price-performance ratio,” says Goosen.

The collaboration with Huawei and Wentzo has provided Groevenbeek Christian Secondary School with numerous benefits. Even when thousands of students go online simultaneously during classes, the network performance remains stable and reliable. Huawei partner Wentzo also impressed Groevenbeek (or: the college) with a quick and smooth installation. Roeland Goosen: “Wentzo really surprised us. They managed to build our entire network environment in record time. It was particularly important that they completed the setup within a week. As a school, we simply cannot afford to have classes canceled due to a new Wi-Fi installation.” Additionally, the new network scores with its proactive management. Wentzo's CloudCampus platform constantly monitors the network and uses AI-driven analytics to continuously improve performance. This intelligent solution detects potential issues before they occur and automatically optimizes the network.
