Andre Hugo
Andre Hugo is a seasoned business leader with a strong international and local track record in building and scaling companies. Over the last 10 years, he has built his career around disruption and digital payments.
Earlier in his career, Andre’s work with Deloitte Digital was focused in mobile, retail and payments. Later on, Andre voyaged along the exciting road of entrepreneurship to start M4JAM (Money for Jam), a micro jobbing platform which created a utility for jobbers to earn cash. Moving on to his tenure as Virgin Money South Africa (VMSA) CEO, Andre successfully launched South Africa's first enterprise scale retail blockchain exchange via Spot, Virgin Money's peer-to-peer and retail payments app. The customer base grew from 15,000 people to more than 350,000 in days, a milestone that marked VMSA’s entry into operating as a fintech.
In 2020, the entrepreneurial calling once again led Andre to co-found, Spot Money South Africa – a disruptive fintech business, introducing South Africans to Open Banking. His digital innovation expertise will play a significant role as he drives Spot Money into market as an Open Banking marketplace - the future of banking.

Prior to this, Colin founded the award-winning Equinox Leadership and Innovation Centre, was a founding board member of the University of Cape Town’s African Institute of Financial Markets and Risk Management and had a successful corporate and investment banking career, where he held a range of senior leadership roles in Frankfurt, Singapore and South Africa.
