Huawei Launches Next-Generation Fully Programmable Agile Switches Ideal for Building Intent-Driven Campus Networks

[Amsterdam, the Netherlands, March 20, 2018] Huawei announced its Intent-Driven CloudCampus solution for campus networks at the Huawei Western Europe Partner Summit 2018. At this event, Huawei also unveiled several new fully programmable agile switches, including S6720-HI and S5730-HI, to underpin the automated deployment, automated O&M, and united security of intent-driven campus networks. The S6720-HI series are the industry's first fully programmable fixed switches with 100GE uplink ports, while the S5730-HI series are next-generation all-gigabit access switches with unmatched agility.

As digital transformation gains momentum across all industries, enterprise networks are becoming more complex and having to carry additional services. Networks are expected to understand business intent and, more importantly, respond to fast-changing service needs in real time.

The new agile switches that Huawei released at this event build on Huawei's Ethernet Network Processor (ENP) chips to create a fully programmable architecture, enabling new services to be quickly rolled out. They also support Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN) to virtualize campus networks, facilitating multi-service support and improving resource utilization by 33%. Furthermore, these new switches automate network deployment, service provisioning, and policy management by creating virtual networks in the simplest possible way. The native Access Controller (AC) functionalities of these switches make convergence of wired and wireless networks a reality. In addition, these are the only switches in the industry to implement network-wide collection of all traffic, and support Big Data-powered security analysis to fend off advanced threats more quickly and accurately.
