Ms Stefania Giannini was appointed Assistant Director-General for Education in May 2018, becoming the top United Nations official in the field of education. In this position, she provides strategic vision and leadership for UNESCO’s Education Sector in coordinating and monitoring the implementation of the Education 2030 Agenda, encapsulated in Sustainable Development Goal 4.
She has devoted her career to promoting education as a fundamental human right, through the importance of language, lifelong learning, culture, freedom of expression and identity, in an effort to ensure more inclusive and equal societies.
With an academic background in the Humanities (PhD in Linguistics), Ms Giannini became Professor of Linguistics in 1992 and served as Rector of the University for Foreigners of Perugia (2004 – 2012), being one of the first female Rectors and the youngest at that time in Italy.

Sylvain Laurent has been appointed Chairman of the 3DS Infrastructure and City Board of Directors since 2020.
He has held the positions of Executive Vice President and President of Asia Pacific for Dassault Systemes 3DS Business Transformation (BT) from April 2011 to 2019. In this role, he is responsible for sales to key customers and global 3DS solutions and services. He is also a member of the Executive Committee.

J. Scott Marcus is a Senior Fellow at Bruegel, a Brussels-based macroeconomics think tank. He also works as an independent consultant dealing with policy and regulatory issues related to electronic communications, media and digital services. From 2005 to 2015, he served as a Director for the WIK, a research institute in regulatory economics of network industries. Prior to that, he served as Senior Advisor for Internet Technology for the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) as a peer to the FCC’s Chief Economist and Chief Technologist. In 2004, the FCC loaned Mr. Marcus to the European Commission for six months. Prior to working for the FCC, he was the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of GTE Internetworking, a leading Internet backbone service provider.
Marcus is the author of numerous papers and of a book on data network design. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from the City College of New York, and an M.S. from the School of Engineering, Columbia University.

Before joining Huawei Dr. Demir has held begin 2015 until October 2017 Director Manufacturing & Quality IT role for all Asia & Pacific plants of General Motors to do digital transformation and transformation from IT outsourced model into an IT insourced model of the Asian/Pacific plants and later in 2017 assigned to lead the transition of Opel Manufacturing & Quality IT into the Groupe PSA.
Dr. Demir has started his career in 2000 at Daimler and worked in total 15 years at Daimler, including 3 years in India and 4 years in China. He started as development engineer for ECU (electronic control units) development, InCar diagnosis applications and ECU embedded software. He worked after that within Daimler at several technical and managerial positions, like component & process development lead at Daimler Busses, engineering process development lead at Daimler Trucks, R&D and Manufacturing IT lead at Daimler India and Manufacturing & Quality IT lead at Daimler China.
After graduating with a master's Degree from the electrical engineering at University Ulm/Germany, Dr. Demir also acquired a PhD at the Technical University Hamburg-Harburg in cooperation with BMW in the area of modelling and simulation of vehicle and driver behavior within traffic flow. Besides, he also acted as the robot software engineer at FAW Ulm (Science institute for applied knowledge). Dr. Demir joined the Huawei Enterprise Business Group in October 2017 and leading within Western Europe Automotive and Manufacturing solutions portfolio and business development as CTO.

Based in London, he is responsible for driving IDC's research covering present and future trends impacting servers, storage and networking and IT service delivery.
