Huawei Network Summit 2025 (Europe) is an event organized by Huawei Technologies Huawei Technologies Deutschland GmbH, a company duly incorporated and exists under the laws of Germany, and its registered office located at Hansaallee 205, 40549 Düsseldorf, Germany (hereinafter referred to as “Huawei”, "we", "us" or "our").

We take your privacy seriously, and take all appropriate security measures to protect it in accordance with the industry's well-established safety standards. 1.How do we process your personal data and what is the legal basis?

1. If the processing is based on your consent, providing the data and giving your consent is voluntary.

2. If the processing is necessary to enter into contract or to fulfil contractual obligations, without your personal data, the corresponding contract cannot be concluded, or a performance of concluded contract can be limited.

3. If the processing is necessary to fulfil legal obligation, it is mandatory to provide the data based on applicable legislation.

Legal basis of processing

Event registration and notification - If you want to join the Huawei Network Summit 2025 onsite, an online registration will be needed.

In order to generate a personal account and approve the registration through email for the participants who will join the Huawei Network Summit 2025 onsite in Munich, we need to process the indicated personal data, without which we can’t properly process your registration for participation:

E-mail, first name, last name, country/region, telephone, company, job title, industry, and relationship with Huawei

We need to process your personal data to confirm your registration/participation, and to provide the Event sessions according to the Terms of Use agreed by you. Therefore, the data processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract-Article 6 (1) (b) GDPR.

Verification and identification of onsite attendance - In order to verify the identification of onsite attendance and allow your onsite participation at the Event, we need to process your personal data, without which we cannot perform such identification.

Processing is necessary for for pursuing our legitimate interests of allowing only registered participants to attend the Event onsite, and to ensure the safety and security of all participants and Huawei staff -Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR.

Promotion of the Event – In order to promote the event on Huawei official websites, Huawei social media accounts, Huawei publicity or marketing articles/posts published in the media.

Also, Event materials, such as Event highlights, keynote speeches of sessions, and exhibition screen materials, will be sent to Huawei employees attending the Event.

First name, last name, your image on photograph and video format, recording of your voice and speeches (if applicable).

Huawei processes your personal data based on your explicit consent expressed via e-mail. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time as described in Section 5 of this Statement -Article 6 (1) (a) GDPR, without prejudice to the processing occurred before you withdrew your consent.

Survey  -To collect the participants experience and suggestions. The participants can choose to participate to a survey about the Event, by scanning the code provided. Your valued opinions and comments will be submitted with your personal information

2.How long and where do we store your data?

We retain your personal data for no longer than that is necessary for the purposes defined in this Statement. In particular:

You understand and agree that Huawei has only a limited control over the recipients of the data once it is uploaded to promoting channels/Social Media and that Huawei is not responsible for the Social Media sites owners’ uses of your personal data. They have their own privacy policies and are considered as controllers separate from Huawei. Huawei cannot be held responsible for executing your rights against those third parties. Please note that by posting personal data to promoting channels/Social Media, the personal data may be transferred to third countries, subject to the promoting channels/Social Media website owners’ privacy policies. Huawei has no control over such transfers, if they occur.

The personal data agreed to be processed will be uploaded to our marketing to lead platform and the application layer deployed in China by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd in China.

When the data are transferred to a third country that does not ensure adequate level of protection of personal data, Huawei complies with applicable legal requirements for providing adequate safeguards by incorporating the Standard Contractual Clauses with relevant supplementary measures in such transfer. The personal data agreed to be processed will be shared with the team of Huawei China for them to assist in the Event Registration and Notification. Their servers are deployed in Peoples’ Republic of China by Huawei

Technologies Co., Ltd., incorporated in Peoples’ Republic of China.

Promotion of the Event

The personal data agreed to be processed will be shared with the team of Huawei China for them to assist in the collection of photos, videos and later editing. Their servers are deployed in Peoples’ Republic of China by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd., incorporated in Peoples’ Republic of China.

Event Registration and notification: The registration page is created by Huawei Technologies Deutschland GmbH and your personal data will be used to provide services only by us.

Event Registration: Personal Data related to Event Registration will be shared with our Huawei local affiliates in EU/EEA to coordinate onsite participants on our behalf. You can see the full list of Huawei affiliates in the European Region in the following link: Click Here.
Event management: We have procured the selected supplier, Pico In-Creative (UK) Limited to assist with the event management. The supplier’ server is deployed in Germany.

Verification and identification of onsite attendance

To verify if the participants are registered, our event supplier will verify your first name, last name and email address. The supplier’ server is deployed in Germany.

Marketing Lead based on consent in survey

To respond to your request of workshop, POC or ordering and share with you more about our products, solutions and services, the relevant data will be shared to our customer development suppliers, and then to Huawei local Marketing team in Germany or Huawei channel partners in Germany.

Promotion of the Event

Event materials, such as Event highlights, keynote speeches of sessions, and exhibition screen materials, will be sent to Huawei employees attending the Event.

We will enter into a strict entrusting agreement or personal data processing terms with the entrusted party. The entrusted party is obligated to process related personal data in accordance with this Statement and our instructions, and take relevant confidentiality and security measures to ensure personal data security.

(3) Disclosures related to legal requirements and business transactions

Huawei may share your data in response to a legal process or request from a competent authority based on an applicable law or in connection with legal proceeding or process. Your data may also be disclosed as part of merger, acquisition, sale of assets (such as service agreements) or transition of service to a Huawei group or other relevant company.


5. What are your rights and choices?

You can enter into the Data Subject Request Portal (English version) or  Data Subject Request Portal (German version) to exercise your data subject rights. When filling the request, please select the category “Other” on the Requestor Type field.

Right of Access, Art. 15 GDPR

You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether Personal Data concerning you is being processed and, where that is the case, access to the information of processing required by GDPR. You also have the right to a copy of the Personal Data undergoing processing.

Right of Rectification, Art. 16 GDPR

You have the right to require rectification of inaccurate Personal Data concerning you and also the right to complete your Personal Data.

Right of Erasure, Art. 17 GDPR

You have the right to erase (delete) your Personal Data in particular circumstances.

Right of Restriction, Art. 18 GDPR

You have the right to demand restriction of processing in particular circumstances.

Right of Objection, Art. 21 GDPR

Right of Portability, Art. 20 GDPR

The right of portability does not apply in the case of processing personal data on legal obligation or legitimate interests’ basis.

You have the right to withdraw a given consent at any time to stop a data processing that is based on your consent. The withdrawal will not affect the lawfulness of the processing based on the consent before the withdrawal.
