Huawei to Host Global Energy Summit In Abu Dhabi

[Shenzhen, China, November 2, 2017] Huawei will hold its annual Global Energy Summit on 12 November 2017, at the Ritz Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The event will be held the day before the start of the 20th Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC), where Huawei will demonstrate its wide range of innovative ICT solutions designed for the oil and gas industry.

The theme of this year’s Global Energy Summit is 'Leading New ICT for Higher Safety and Efficiency in the Oil and Gas Industry'. At the summit, Huawei will drive important discussions with global oil and gas industry executives, experts, and partners, through sharing case studies on the use of technological and managerial innovations to reduce costs, control risks, ensure safe operations, achieve sustainable development, and promote the intelligent transformation of the oil and gas industry.

Expected to receive more than 200 representatives from the global oil and gas sector, the one-day summit will focus on industry-relevant topics including "Capitalizing on Safe and Efficient Digital Oil and Gas Solutions to Lower Costs and Increase Efficiency", "Working with Industry Pioneers to Implement Digital Oil and Gas Best Practices", and "Pushing Ahead Oil and Gas IoT for a More Collaborative Energy Ecosystem ". Industry leaders and subject matter experts will deliver speeches addressing current industry trends and challenges, as well as the prospects of future development of the industry.

Jerry Ji, President of the Energy Sector for Huawei Enterprise Business Group, will deliver the keynote speech at the summit. Highlights of the summit will include speeches from Anders Brun, McKinsey & Company's Global Leader of the Advanced Analytics and Digital Transformations in Oil & Gas Service Line, Dr. Hatem Nasr, Senior Advisor in Oil Field digital transformation, Liu Dingwu, Asia Gas Pipeline's chief engineer, and Robin Mills, nonresident Energy Fellow, at the Brookings Doha Center. They will focus on the role of digital transformation as a key driver of strategic and operational change within the oil and gas industry. In addition, representatives of Schlumberger, CPPE-Abu Dhabi, ABB, and Booz Allen Hamilton will share some of the latest digital innovation practices in the upstream, midstream, and downstream of the oil and gas industry. Furthermore, speakers from BGP Inc. and CNPC will share their insights on unleashing the unlimited potential of HPC systems.

At ADIPEC, Huawei will demonstrate a series of leading integrated innovative solutions with industry partners, which will drive the oil and gas industry's transition to smart technologies and fully digital operations.
