Students, put your ICT skills to the test
The Western Europe region of the Huawei ICT Competition is now open for registrations. Test your skills and knowledge against other students for the chance to win great prizes and even a trip to China in May 2020.
Registration is free, and open to students in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, France, Netherlands, Belgium, and Switzerland.

The UK’s largest skills, apprenticeships and careers event was held on 15-17 November at the NEC Birmingham. Huawei has lots of activities at our large booth and on stages throughout the event.

Huawei Authorized Information and Network Academy (HAINA) is a not for profit partnership program that authorizes universities and colleges to deliver Huawei Certification courses to their students. FOCUS ON : Connect 2016 Contract Signing Ceremony
What happened
At the Connect 2016 event Huawei authorized two universities in the UK, Edinburgh Napier University and the University of Surrey, to collaborate with Huawei Academy in developing talent for future careers in ICT.

- - We signed a HAINA contract with Northumberland in April 2016
- - We had a Northumberland College HAINA launch on Friday 8th July 2016 during an ‘Employment & Skills’ Event

FOCUS ON : University of Reading
What happened
- - Signed-up as a HAINA in November 2015
- - Reading HAINA launch took place in December 2015
- - Article on Reading students visiting Huawei on industry visit
- - After teachers had completed their training, Reading University delivered their first Huawei certification training course to 10 students on 6th June 2016. 5 days training course in HCNA-Storage
- - 4 students sat the external certification exam at a Prometric test centre within 2 week of completing the HCNA-Storage training - all 4 passed the exam on the first attempt.
- - These were the first HAINA students in WEU to pass the Huawei certification exam

EXTRA INFO : Reading Students visit Huawei UK
HAINA program arranged an industry visit for 30 final year BSc and MSc students from Reading University. The students were accompanied by 7 Reading university staff, including Professor Kecheng Liu and Adrian Bell, Associate Dean, International Head of ICMA Centre.
Pallavi Malhotra, Huawei Academy Manager, WEU hosted the event with presentations by Kevin Wildman, John Sutton and Mauro Laborinho with assistance by Rob Cox. John Sutton gave a tour of Huawei’s research facilities. The visit ended with networking and refreshments and presentation of Huawei branded memorabilia for students and Reading university staff as a remembrance of the visit. Positive feedback was received from students and Reading university staff.
