Unlike traditional cameras that use a 1/1.8 inch front-illuminated Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) sensor, Huawei’s X2221-CL Facial Recognition Soft-Light Camera benefits from a 1/1.8 inch back-illuminated CMOS, greatly increasing the amount of light reaching the image plane and improving overall image quality.
While common cameras only offer single-channel High Definition (HD) video encoding, the X2221-CL supports dual-channel independent 1080p HD video encoding, delivering HD video to two backend systems, providing uninterrupted video service for disaster recovery.
The camera supports face detection and capture with up to 16 faces captured in each frame — with at least 95% accuracy. Meanwhile, the built-in face snapshot optimization algorithm dramatically reduces the repetition rate — to below 10%. Indeed, the X2221-CL supports facial recognition at the front end, matching detected faces with a blacklist of up to 100,000 faces, automatically generating an alarm upon a successful match.
The 1 + N feature — 1 smart camera + N common cameras — even offers the ability to add intelligence to common HD cameras, maximizing the use of existing, legacy infrastructure. The X2221-CL supports multiple connections — including gigabit Ethernet, RS-485, alarm input and output, and analog video output ports — as well as supporting ISP profile setting, including seven preset profiles (for indoor scenarios, outdoor scenarios, virtual checkpoints, dimmed, backlight, overcast, and facial applications) and eight customized ISP profiles, making it a versatile choice for a variety of scenarios.
