[Hannover, Germany, April 01, 2019] At HANNOVER MESSE 2019, Huawei today presents the Atlas Intelligent Computing Platform, an important part of Huawei's full-stack AI solution, driving an AI future with the highest computing power. Debuting in Western Europe for the first time, Dr. Kunbin HONG, Solution & Marketing Director at Huawei Intelligent Computing Europe Development Department, presented the platform under the theme of “Bring Pervasive Intelligent Computing with Chip Innovation”. Huawei's Atlas Intelligent Computing Platform provides a rich array of product form factors, such as modules, cards, edge stations, and appliances, enabling all-scenario AI infrastructure solutions that bridge Device-Edge-Cloud. Powered by Huawei's Ascend-310-Chips and mainstream heterogeneous computing components, the Atlas Intelligent Computing Platform reduces the entry technical requirements of AI application and enables quick development and rollout of AI services for enterprises.

With the Atlas Intelligent Computing Platform, Huawei offers a variety of options for its customers such as the Atlas 200 accelerator module, deployed for terminals and devices like cameras and drones, the Atlas 300 plug-in card, positioned for data centers and edge server scenarios and the Atlas 500 module, suited for a broad range of applications, such as transportation, nursing and care, unattended retail, and smart manufacturing as well as the Atlas 800 the one-stop AI platform, integrating management software for cluster management and job scheduling, and system-level performance monitoring capabilities. Thus, the Atlas Intelligent Computing Platform is widely applicable to domains such as safe city, smart transportation, smart healthcare and AI inference, making a substantial contribution to the AI future.

Leading towards an AI-fueled future through unrivaled compute power

Superior Compute Power: A single chip, powered by Huawei's Ascend series AI processors, delivers 16 TeraOPS INTS and supports real-time analysis of 16-channel HD video with a power consumption less than 8 W.

All-Scenario AI: The all-scenario AI infrastructure solution is designed and tuned to Device-Edge-Cloud, fully meeting diversified AI application scenario requirements in the intelligent era.

Open Ecosystem: The Atlas intelligent computing platform supports mainstream frameworks and provides easy-to-use code porting and model conversion tools, allowing for flexible collaboration with industry ISVs to build an open industry ecosystem.

“The fourth industrial revolution is here, featuring intelligent technology. It is gaining momentum across the world and will propel society into a more intelligent era. In these turbulent and exciting times, we, at Huawei, focus on our customers’ needs and support them on their way to a fully connected, intelligent future,” emphasizes Dr. HONG, Solution & Marketing Director at Huawei Intelligent Computing Europe Development Department. “With our Atlas Intelligent Computing Platform, we deliver an all-scenario AI infrastructure solution linking artificial intelligence with manufacturing, going one step further into the AI future.”

Making AI the new general-purpose technology, Huawei has been pursuing a strategic orientation for several years now. Huawei is focusing on five main challenges: Investing in AI research, building a comprehensive AI portfolio, developing an open ecosystem including training, strengthening its own portfolio and improving operational efficiency. “While most people in our industry talk about the cloud future, we continue to think that the goal is artificial intelligence,” says Kunbin Hong.

Huawei’s expertise in computing, management, Artificial Intelligence (AI), storage, and network core chips is recognized and highly esteemed worldwide. So far, 211 of the Fortune Global 500 companies, including 48 Fortune Global 100 companies, have selected Huawei as their digital transformation partner.
