Huawei DCI Solution Will Be Unveiled at Huawei Southern Pacific ISP Summit 2016
On June 2, Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, will host the Huawei Southern Pacific ISP Summit 2016 in Singapore. At the summit, Huawei will unveil a Data Center Interconnect (DCI) solution and a new wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) product, Huawei OSN902, offering a DCI-oriented bearer network with large bandwidth and low latency that supports fast service provisioning and on-demand adjustment.
In the cloud era, DCI network reconstruction is inevitable.
In the traditional Internet era, services are implemented via search engines and web page browsing. The common network architecture is access layer -> aggregation layer -> backbone layer.
However, in the Internet Plus era, fast developing cloud computing and server virtualization accelerate dynamic service changes. Enterprises and users require access to the nearest cloud data centers (DCs), causing network architecture to gradually flatten out and DC-centric networks to emerge.
International Data Corporation (IDC) predicts that 80% of enterprise services will exist on cloud computing platforms within the next two to three years, bringing new challenges in the areas of network bandwidth, latency, service provisioning, and on-demand adjustment:
- The explosive growth of Internet services on networks with flattened architecture will lead to surges in cloud interconnection traffic. And since DCs are at the core of cloud deployment, traffic between DCs will also increase significantly.
- Cloud computing has higher latency requirements. When cloud computing resources are virtually distributed among DCs, the method of reducing DCI latency becomes critically important to the improvement of user experience.
- To meet enterprise leased line requirements, DCI leased line service provisioning must be accelerated and network resources must offer on-demand dynamic adjustment.
Huawei SDN-Based DCI Solution Helps Customers Win in the Future
In the cloud era, DCI networks must provide large bandwidth and low latency and support functions such as fast deployment and dynamic adjustment. The SDN-based DCI is the core network solution, as SDN technologies satisfy DCI network requirements, such as centralized network management, flexible networking, multipath forwarding, virtual machine deployment, intelligent migration, virtual tenants, and IaaS.
Huawei has extensive experience with network construction and O&M. Based on analysis of the aforementioned DC and bearer network changes, Huawei promotes DCI solutions in long-haul and Metro scenarios to achieve fast service provisioning, simplified O&M, and SLA-based dynamic and real-time network traffic adjustment as well as to provide a high-quality bearer.
On June 2, IDC analyst Nikhil Batra will speak on the ISP industry's technology development trend. Alex Duan and Sean Long will unveil the Huawei DCI solutions and the new WDM product, Huawei OSN902. Moreover, Huawei's ISP partners will share access network success stories at the summit.
