[Medellín, Colombia, August 5, 2026] During the Latin America leg of Huawei Network Summit 2026 (HNS 2026), Huawei upgraded its Xinghe AI Network Security Solution for Latin America and released the Huawei AIFW Technical White Paper (the White Paper). The White Paper outlines the technical evolution direction and industry development path of AI firewalls (AIFWs) in the AI era. It also provides a complete technical framework and practical guidance for industries to build end-to-end AI security systems.

The White Paper defines AIFW as a next-generation intelligent firewall built for the AI era. It relies on five core design principles: stability and trustworthiness, high-performance protection, intelligence-driven detection, real-time defense, and autonomous operations. Through these principles, the firewall achieves intelligent driving, policy autonomy, and business semantic control. Furthermore, the document systematically details AIFW's technical evolution, general architecture, typical application scenarios, and deployment practices, while offering a future outlook for the technology. This advancement drives security operations away from manual management toward autonomous operations. It also provides a reusable technical reference and practical standard for industries to implement AI-native protection and adapt to new digital transformation scenarios.

Pedro Jose Romero Medina, Huawei's Colombia Cyber Security & Privacy Officer, delivered a keynote speech titled AI vs. AI: Empowering Intelligent Security Infrastructure and Consolidating Digital Sovereignty. He emphasized that amid the rapid wave of regional digital transformation, every network, data set, and AI system constitutes a critical strategic asset. Organizations must use AI-driven defense systems to secure the digital autonomy and security capabilities required for stable growth.
Huawei builds end-to-end network security solutions powered by products like its AIFWs, covering corporate security operations, campuses, multi-branch environments, and data centers. In terms of security operations, Huawei's Xinghe AI Agentic Security Operations Center (SOC) enhances security operations efficiency and safeguards national data security using AI agents. In terms of secure campus access, Huawei's HiSec Endpoint intelligent endpoint security system integrates endpoint detection and response (EDR), network access control (NAC), and zero trust network access (ZTNA) capabilities to ensure secure access of endpoints to both internal and external networks. In terms of enterprise branch security, Huawei's HiSecEngine USG6500G converged gateway pits AI against AI, building industry-leading capabilities for detecting unknown threats. In terms of data center security, Huawei introduced a collaborative endpoint-network-storage anti-ransomware solution that coordinates defenses across all three layers to fully repel ransomware attacks.
Moving forward, Huawei will continue to deepen its presence in the Latin American market.
