Huawei Wi-Fi 7 and intelligent campus networking technologies are helping National Company for Learning & Education deliver faster, more reliable connectivity and a stronger digital foundation for modern teaching and campus operations in Saudi Arabia.
National Company for Learning & Education (NCLE) has a long-standing history in Saudi Arabia’s private education sector. Its journey dates back to 1958, when Sheikh Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al-Khudair established the first school that would later become Tarbiyah Namouthajiyah Schools, the first private institution to provide education for girls in Riyadh.
Today, NCLE’s educational legacy spans more than 65 years. The organization supports a student capacity of over 40,500 and a workforce of more than 3,300 educators and staff, across a campus footprint exceeding 30,000 m².
As a leading operator of educational institutions in the Kingdom, NCLE continues to advance the quality of education in line with international standards. With digital tools becoming increasingly embedded in teaching, administration, and everyday campus activities, reliable and high-performance connectivity has become an essential foundation for its continued development.
As NCLE’s digital learning environment evolved, its existing network infrastructure began to face growing performance and reliability challenges.
Wireless coverage was inconsistent in some areas, resulting in connectivity interruptions for users moving across the campus. At the same time, the existing infrastructure struggled to keep pace with increasing bandwidth requirements from educational and administrative applications.
The network also relied on aging wired and wireless devices. While the wired infrastructure offered limited bandwidth, the existing wireless network was based on Wi-Fi 5, significantly slower than Wi-Fi 7 and unable to meet growing requirements for network speed and capacity.
Wireless access point placement created additional coverage gaps, affecting roaming performance and the overall user experience. Network reliability was another concern, as failures of key devices could interrupt critical services and increase maintenance requirements.
NCLE therefore needed to modernize its network infrastructure to provide faster connectivity, comprehensive wireless coverage, greater reliability, and simpler network management.
To address these challenges, NCLE partnered with Huawei to build a high-quality campus network centered on three core pillars: Wi-Fi 7 technology, a super high-speed network, and an ultra-reliable system architecture.
Wi-Fi 7 Technology: Huawei Wi-Fi 7 technology provides user rates of up to 4.3 Gbit/s, creating the capacity required to support increasingly bandwidth-intensive educational services. Combined with 3D network planning and Huawei’s smart antenna technologies, the solution delivers comprehensive wireless coverage and helps eliminate coverage blind spots across the campus.
Super High-Speed Network: 2.5GE connections to access points enable terminal speeds up to five times faster than before. This provides a stronger foundation for high-density and bandwidth-intensive teaching scenarios, including online classes and emerging AR/VR-based learning applications, while improving concurrent performance by 20%.
Ultra-Reliable System Architecture: Redundant distribution switches help maintain network availability in the event of unexpected device faults, while an integrated secure firewall strengthens network protection without requiring additional security investment.
The solution brings together Huawei’s campus networking portfolio, including CloudEngine 6730 Series switches at the core and aggregation layers, CloudEngine 5735 Series switches at the access layer, Huawei Wi-Fi 7 access points with AirEngine 6508 Wireless Access Controllers, and the iMaster NCE-Campus platform for centralized network management and monitoring.
Together, these technologies provide NCLE with a high-speed, reliable, and centrally managed network foundation designed to support both today’s digital services and future educational innovation.
Following the network modernization, NCLE has achieved significant improvements across its learning and administrative environments.
Students and staff now benefit from 24-hour access to high-speed connectivity and reliable wireless coverage across the campus. Faster upload and download speeds have also accelerated digital workflows, helping staff and administrators work more efficiently.
The new infrastructure has strengthened overall network reliability compared with the previous environment, reducing the frequency of maintenance interventions and troubleshooting requirements.
At the same time, centralized network management and monitoring through Huawei iMaster NCE-Campus have simplified network operations and reduced operational overhead, giving NCLE’s IT teams greater visibility and control over the campus network.
By modernizing its network foundation with Huawei’s Wi-Fi 7 campus solution, NCLE has established a stronger digital foundation for teaching, learning, and administration.
The high-speed, reliable, and centrally managed infrastructure enables NCLE to provide a consistent digital experience across its educational environment while creating the network foundation needed to support new learning technologies and services in the future.
As NCLE continues to advance education across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, its modernized campus network will help ensure that students, educators, and staff can benefit from a connected environment designed for the next generation of digital education.
