Huawei All-Flash Storage
OceanStor Dorado V3 uses Huawei’s intelligent multi-protocol interface chip, intelligent SSD controller chip, and intelligent BMC management chip to implement an end-to-end service acceleration platform that triples performance and maximizes resource utilization.
Intelligently parses front-end protocols including 32 Gbit/s Fiber
Channel and 100 GE protocols with forward compatibility. This module improves
storage performance by 20%.
Implements Flash Translation Layer (FTL) in silicon to accelerate
data access in SSDs. This Huawei chip reduces read latency by 80 μs, 10% lower
the runner up.
Implements intelligent and comprehensive fault management. Fault location accuracy
is up to 93%, shortening fault recovery times from 2 hours to 10 minutes.
Huawei is taking full advantage of NVMe protocols with the industry’s only end-end development of an NVMe flash controller, NVMe all-flash Operating System (OS), and NVMe SSDs. Powered by this NVMe architecture with finely tuned disk/controller coordination, Huawei’s NVMe all-flash storage now ensures a stable latency of 0.5 milliseconds.
OceanStor Dorado V3’s new SSD-optimized design and disk/controller coordination technology enable storage controllers to detect data layouts in SSDs in real time and synchronize the data in controllers and SSDs. This coordination helps reduce performance losses caused by garbage collection and ensures rapid response to data read and write I/Os.
Integrates a range of technologies to prolong service life, including Low-Density Parity-Check
Code (LDPC) error correction, global wear leveling, anti-wear leveling, and flash-ice heat
dissipation. With a Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) of 3 million hours, our SSD reliability
is No. 1 in the industry.
Tolerates three simultaneous disk failures without interrupting services.
Reduces the time to reconstruct 1 TB of data from 5 hours to 0.5 hours.
Balances the load between active-active mirrors and permits non-disruptive cross-site takeover. The gateway-free design simplifies deployment and reduces the number of possible points of failure. The solution can smoothly upgrade to three data centers without gateways to achieve 99.9999% availability.
Provides industry-leading self-protection for storage in a multi-cloud environment. The system unifies management of disaster recovery, backup, and data reuse.
Greatly reduces the storage footprint while maintaining high performance. OceanStor Dorado V3 offers a data reduction ratio as high as 5:1.
Combines big data analysis and AI to provide services such as automatic fault reporting, capacity performance prediction, and disk risk prediction to prevent problems and perform capacity planning.
