At the summit, Perry Yang, President of Huawei Enterprise Optical Network Domain, delivered a keynote speech titled "iFTTO: A New Era for AI Campuses." He said, "AI-enabled campuses are evolving towards smart spaces, forming comprehensive sensing, all-domain intelligence, and people-centric spatial agents. To meet the requirements of smart campuses in the AI era, Huawei has innovatively developed the all-new iFTTO solution by deeply integrating optical with AI technologies." He explained this solution reshapes the value of campus networks and builds a new entry for enterprise AI applications through four key capabilities: all-optical connectivity, open IoT, multi-dimensional sensing, and smart O&M.

Huawei's iFTTO solution is upgraded in four dimensions.

• Connectivity upgrade: By directly connecting terminals through optical networks, the solution condenses the architecture from two layers to one. Powered by Huawei's industry-leading 50G PON Combo technology, it increases the bandwidth by five times and supports triple-mode simultaneous transmission, adapting to diverse campus traffic models and enabling flexible, on-demand network deployment.

• IoT upgrade: Huawei's first-of-its-kind Wi-Fi 7 IoT optical AP is embedded with NearLink and Bluetooth modules, enabling unified deployment, a unified foundation, and a unified bus for both networking and IoT. All of this empowers solution partners to achieve rapid integration.

• Sensing upgrade: Leveraging Wi-Fi sensing technology, this solution supports multi-dimensional non-visual sensing. In hotels, it can be used for unregistered guest fraud prevention. In classrooms, offices, and guest rooms, it can link with air conditioning, lighting, and conferencing systems for energy saving, helping campuses reduce emissions and enhance operational efficiency.

• O&M upgrade: Through the industry's first all-optical campus O&M intelligent agent, the solution proactively identifies potential network risks and implements automatic closed-loop O&M. It can also interact with campus O&M personnel using natural language to provide intelligent Q&A, assist O&M personnel in decision-making, and lower the O&M threshold, allowing one person to manage an entire campus.

For education, healthcare, and hotel scenarios, Huawei has launched multiple new iFTTO offerings to enhance AI user experience.

• Education: The new symmetric 50G PON optical terminal P992H enables 50G to each room, accelerating scientific research translation, meeting high-bandwidth demand scenarios such as gene sequencing, model training, and practical training rooms, and enhancing research efficiency.

• Healthcare: Powered by IoT optical APs, the solution enables the convenient deployment of diverse innovative applications. By integrating positioning and operational data from medical devices, it achieves refined efficiency analysis. Combined with smart infusion equipment, it builds an infusion monitoring system equipped with smart care and automatic alarm functions.

• Hotel: Optical APs integrate the VIP service assurance function. By reserving air interface resources, the optical APs provide two-fold bandwidth for VIP users and reduce latency by 50%. In addition, the Wi-Fi intelligent sensing technology built in the optical APs helps prevent unregistered guest frauds and save energy in guest rooms, cutting hotel operation costs.

• Campus network reconstruction: Huawei iFTTO solution can fully utilize existing infrastructure (such as equipment rooms, pipes, and cable trays) to reconstruct the campus network and deploy a new network in parallel. This effectively shortens the construction period and achieves a seamless network upgrade.

The legacy ACs can centrally manage optical APs, and are fully compatible with the original authentication platform and APs, enabling seamless roaming and smooth interworking between the old and new networks, which protects existing investments.

To date, Huawei iFTTO solution has been implemented in more than 18,000 campuses worldwide. Looking ahead, Huawei will continue to innovate by deeply integrating F5G-A technologies into campus scenarios. Together with customers, partners, and industry organizations, Huawei will incubate new solutions, advance new standards, and write a new chapter of AI-powered campuses.
