Dr. Osama Aboul-Magd has industry leadership in many standards forums, including IEEE 802, ITU-T, MEF, and IETF. He holds leadership positions in IEEE 802.11 WLAN (IEEE 802.11ac TG chair) and ITU-T (Q.16 SG 12 on voice-quality assessment).

A senior system architect in the data communications industry, Aboul-Magd has a successful career in research and development that includes advanced product design, technical leadership, and profitable innovation.

He has authored more than 20 patents, patent applications, and technical publications. He is a recipient of Nortel Networks highest Technology Award of Excellence for leading work on Ethernet Services and quality of service.

He is a self-starter and quick learner with proven ability in adapting new technologies to practical networking solutions.
