Huawei's ICT innovations support financial services evolution into an integrated omni-channel world
Shanghai, China, July 5, 2013 – Huawei, a leading global information and communications technology (ICT) solutions provider, recently hosted the first annual Huawei Global Financial Services Summit (FSI Summit) in Shanghai with the theme, "Evolving to an Integrated Omni-channel World", welcoming more than 200 customers and guests from global financial institutions and consultancies. Experts from prominent banks, including Citibank, Standard Chartered Bank, ICBC and the Agricultural Bank of China, gathered together to share with Huawei's experts best practice for using innovative ICT technologies to enable banking services in all channels with a view to advancing technological development within the financial services industry.
"Under the macro trend of ICT consumerization, technologies such as cloud computing, big data, BYOD and video conferencing are revolutionizing the informatization of the financial industry as well as revitalizing financial business innovations," said David He, President of Global Solutions Sales of Huawei Enterprise. "The theme, 'Evolving to an Integrated Omni-channel World' embodies our commitment to support our financial services customers in enhancing service experience in all channels for their customers."
The FSI Summit, comprising of special forums and on-site demonstrations included keynote speeches from key opinion leaders and professionals from the financial services and financial IT sectors. Topics of discussion included the trends and challenges of Chinese retail banking, global economic forecasts and the latest in innovations in retail banking services.
Two sub-forums themed "The Next Generation of Financial Networks" and "Service Innovation" welcomed IT experts from top-tier global banks to engage in speeches and discussions around the new generation of financial networks and banking service channel innovation with Huawei's information experts.
"As one of the top Chinese banks, the Agricultural Bank of China attaches great importance in technology investment, with more than CNY 5 billion invested in IT systems," said Mr. Ye Yousheng, Chief Engineer of IT Department at the Agricultural Bank of China, in his keynote speech. "We hope to support business development in all channels and to largely improve our service quality by revolutionizing our ICT infrastructure with Huawei, which offers a comprehensive product portfolio, strong technical capabilities, excellent services and competitive pricing. Our partnership has been trusting as well as economically beneficial, and I firmly believe there will be more room for cooperation between the two parties in the future."
During the summit events, Huawei showcased its suite of financial ICT solutions during a number of on-site demonstrations. The exhibitions featured experience sessions related to Omni-channel banking (including mobile marketing and virtual teller machines (VTM) solutions), disaster-proof data center backup and next-generation intelligent financial networking.
Huawei celebrated this event as a culmination of over 15 years' experience working with the financial services industry. Its innovative products and services, from enterprise networking, unified communications and collaborations to servers, storage and information security, have been widely deployed across the globe, serving more than 200 global financial institutions, including six of the top 10 global banks.
Huawei's financial intelligence network solutions have been successfully deployed at leading financial institutions including the Agricultural Bank of China, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and HSBC. Huawei's Omni-channel banking solutions have successfully supported customers including the Brazil Northeast Bank, China Merchants Bank, and Bank of Lanzhou to further develop their retail banking businesses.
Looking ahead, Huawei will continue to partner with system integrators and independent software vendors in an effort to achieving advanced ICT infrastructure for its customers globally in the finance industry.
