Advantages

  • Consistent User Experience

The uniform service console ensures consistent user experience.

Uniform northbound APIs reduce the difficulty in adapting to different cloud types.

The uniform network in public and private clouds frees users from concerns about the network boundaries.

  • Fast Service Rollout

Uniform images in public and private clouds allow inter-cloud image conversion and automatic synchronization.

vApp templates can be used to deploy private cloud applications on the public cloud.

  • Cross-Cloud Disaster Recovery

Files, VMs, databases, and applications can be backed up on the public cloud.

Data encryption, de-duplication and compression, with transfer resumption are supported.

Quasi-real-time replication is supported with RPO in seconds. Only the changed I/O data is replicated, placing low requirements on the bandwidth and facilitating the hybrid cloud scenario.

Solution Architecture

  • Huawei’s private cloud solution, FusionCloud, focuses on key sectors such as public security, carrier, government, and finance while competing in the private cloud market. The hybrid cloud solution, FusionBridge, is based on FusionCloud and diverts services from the private cloud to the public cloud for hybrid cloud deployment.
FusionBridge supports eight IaaS services, including ECS, EVS, VPC, EIP, VFW, SEG, IMS, and IAM. Each service uses the same console in public and private clouds to provide a consistent service experience.

Application Scenarios

  • Layered Deployment
    • Frontend services are deployed on the public cloud to support large-scale Internet access. They use the public cloud’s security service system for protection. Backend or core services are deployed on the private cloud to prevent key data leaks. Various services are provided, such as automatic interconnection between clouds and cross-cloud VPCs, with unified network security groups and firewalls. Service vendors provide the VPN or Direct Connect service to ensure communication quality, security, and reliability.

  • Elastic Capacity Expansion
    • Building a traditional private cloud takes a long time and cannot meet customers’ increasing demands for service resources. A solution to this is to replicate services from the private cloud to the public cloud to realize elastic capacity expansion. FusionBridge supports various cloud platform types and uniform service consoles, northbound APIs, and cross-cloud networks. It allows customers to quickly expand services through uniform images and cross-cloud vApp.

  • Cross-Cloud Disaster Recovery
    • The hybrid cloud enables a unified management for enterprises’ private clouds and Huawei public cloud, along with backup for enterprises’ service systems and data on Huawei public cloud. When necessary, backups on the public cloud can be copied to enterprises for data restoration, or be used on the public cloud to restore services. This ensures the security and compliance of service data at a low cost.
