Simplified architecture: The Huawei Campus OptiX solution adopts Passive Optical LAN (POL) point-to-multipoint network architecture, which is suitable for hospitals with dense access points.
• Featuring a simple and centralized architecture, the POL includes the optical line terminal (OLT) deployed in the equipment rooms and optical network units (ONUs) deployed in rooms. The POL architecture does not require the multi-layer distribution of traditional LAN networks. It manages the entire network, delivers and changes configurations, in addition to upgrading terminals from a single point. The network administrator only needs to perform operations on the OLT. The ONUs in rooms are maintenance free, improving overall O&M efficiency by 60%.

• Reserved fibers in the new building's rooms can be used in multiple ONU installation scenarios, such as wall-mounted 86-type box, desktop, and ceiling-mounted installation.
• The solution can be used to continuously upgrade networks, meaning re-cabling is unnecessary. It uses single-mode optical fibers (SMFs), which can provide a capacity of up to Tbps in the future without replacing the cabling infrastructure.
