Bank Alfalah Limited was incorporated as a public limited company on June 21, 1992 under the Companies Ordinance 1984. The Bank’s operations commenced from November 1, 1997 and grow to the sixth largest bank in Pakistan.
Bank Alfalah Limited is doing business through a network of over 500 branches in more than 170 cities in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain and UAE.

To achieve its business development goals, Bank Alfalah Limited set up a plan to upgrade its existing enterprise communication and collaboration system, to build a system with better experience, efficient communication, fast response, smooth scalability and integration, and thus to enrich its interaction and collaboration modes.

Bank Alfalah Limited requires a State-of-the-art, pure IP technology that supports IP enabled connection and IP peer to peer switching that connects endpoints directly to each other through the network, The system must support IP endpoints and traditional TDM endpoints and be able to network to other same-type systems using standard protocol to share coordinated dialing plans. The system should be able to leverage for current and future applications.
Bank Alfalah requires HD videoconferencing systems to provide better user experience, which can make sure banking applications on priority. The videoconferencing system should have outstanding network adaptability to ensure a better participant experience, allowing sites to communicate with each other more smoothly, anytime and anywhere and complete integration with existing video conferencing terminals to provide a converge conference experience.
To resolve these challenges for Bank Alfalah, Huawei offered a standard IP-based converged IPT and videoconferencing system to upgrade the existing communication system. Based on the open exchange platform, the system offers easy and secure access to diverse communication services through a wide variety of terminals.
A conprehensive system was provided to Bank Alfalah Limited with IP PBX (U1960), IAD1224, MCU VP8650, Management System and Internal GK SMC2.0, Public GK SC, IP Phones, as well as video terminals MC850,VP9050, RP200-55, RP100- 46S, VP9030 etc. Before deployment, a POC test was performed in the live enviornement of Bank Alfalah under different scenarios to test the interoperatability with exisiting system. The system were tested and all the required functions from Bank Alfalah were demonstrated in the PoC.
MCU provides resources for multi-party conference, in which both IPT and Videoconferencing system can be seamlessly integrated and converged into one conference, thus largely increasing communication efficiency.
Using Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Automatic Gain Control (AGC), and Acoustic Noise Suppression (ANS) technologies, the HD videoconferencing provides users with clear, full-duplex digital audio. Using Super Error Concealment (SEC) 2.0, the HD videoconferencing system ensures good quality of service (QoS) for the videoconferencing service on a live network. With these technologies, video conferences can run smoothly even when the packet loss rate reaches 5%.
Bank Alfalah built up a complete converge IPT and video conference solution to allow all end terminals to join a same conference to provide HD and natural face-to-face communication experience, highly improve communication and collaboration efficiency.
The system is fully compatible with existing voice and video system and thus CAPEX was largely reduced.
