State Grid Corporation of China
State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) is the largest electric utility company in the world, and was ranked second according to the 2016 Fortune Global 500 ranking. It provides power supply services for 1.1 billion customers. SGCC deployed Huawei’s integrated videoconferencing system, which uses the industry-leading Multipoint Control Unit (MCU) cloud resource pool technology to enable hierarchical management and intensive Operation and Maintenance (O&M). In addition, SGCC also performed in-depth cooperation with Huawei in several major projects, such as SG-ERP for enterprise IT systems and D5000 deployment for production dispatching systems. At CeBIT, Huawei will launch a wireless electric private network solution with State Grid Tianjin Electric Power Company. Huawei will present the successful applications of the solution in automated data collection, remote metering, operations inspection, marketing, and infrastructure. The solution is widely used in oil-gas field development and production and oil and gas pipeline transportation. The administrators of oil and gas pipelines can monitor operational statuses of pipelines thousands of kilometers from the field in real time. The administrators can collect network operating data in a real time and obtain operational status of pipelines, preventing fault occurrence. This greatly reduces OAM risks and reliably guarantees safe, stable, and efficient operations of transmission pipelines, truly achieving digital management of energy arteries.
Deutsche Bahn (DB) is a German railway company, and was ranked 203rd on the Fortune 2016 Global 500. It operates the most leading, comprehensive railway network in the world. Its Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway (GSM-R) network has been in use for more than ten years. As railway communications networks are developing in directions of convergence, broadband, and innovation, the legacy network could not meet future business development needs. To address the customer’s challenge, Huawei worked with Siemens CVC to build a new GSM-R solution which can smoothly evolve to Long-Term Evolution (LTE). This project covers 12,000 kilometers of railways in the north of Germany, about 40% of the country’s total railway mileage, signifying the world’s largest GSM-R network reform.
Deutsche Post DHL
Deutsche Post is a world-leading mail and logistics company, and was ranked 108th on the Fortune 2016 Global 500. On February 14, 2017, Huawei signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Deutsche Post DHL in Shenzhen. Under this agreement, the two parties use industrial IoT hardware and infrastructure to provide customers with a lineup of supply chain solutions. Huawei and DHL will cooperate in innovative projects and use IoT technology based on cellular networks to connect a large number of geographically dispersed devices with the lowest power consumption. Huawei helped Deutsche Telekom build Open Telekom Cloud on Huawei’s OpenStack-based cloud computing platform FusionSphere. The open cloud provides dozens of standard public cloud services, scenario-based cloud service solutions, and telecom-grade network, security, and data protection capabilities. The open cloud has served a wide range of institutions and enterprises, including the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), “Spiral Galaxy” Science Cloud, Deutsche Telekom GIP, Octopus Cloud AG, European Parking System (EPS), and EMUI.
Sony is ranked 113 on the Fortune 500 list and is the leader in many fields worldwide, such as music, movies, games, communication products, and information technology fields. The development of 4K HD technology propels technical revolution of the whole industrial chain. IP-based construction of many scenarios, such as television studio, OB-VAN, and control consoles, gradually becomes the trend. IP-based construction can effectively reduce SDI cables in the TV stations and improve program signal transmission quality, achieving the flexible business expansion and upgrade. IP-based SDI construction is the industrial hot spot. In the next five years, 61% customers worldwide will conduct IP-based construction of SDI signal transmission. In CeBIT 2017, Sony and Huawei will jointly release the IP Live joint solution for the media industry. The solution is based on the IP switching system solutions in the SDN architecture, replacing the traditional SDI matrix system. This can reduce 75% SDI cables and 60% O&M costs, simplifying system complexity and supporting the smooth business expansion and upgrade.
