Elevators Connection Solution

Schindler Builds an Internet of Elevators

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), seven-tenths of the world’s population will live in cities by 2050. High buildings are ubiquitous in big cities, making elevators increasingly important. Enhancing passenger safety and significantly reducing elevator O&M costs are problems that need to be addressed.

In this context, Huawei is promoting their Elevators Connection Solution. The solution collects data in real time and backhauls it. The background data center uses Big Data analytics and integrates decision-making with external systems to achieve remote management and predictive maintenance, lower O&M costs and elevator failure rates, and ensure passenger safety.

The Elevators Connection Solution is an important industry practice of the Huawei EC-IoT solution. It has the following highlights:

  • The solution supports local pre-analysis with edge computing and predicts faults through association between terminals and the cloud.

The open IoT gateway can be flexibly equipped with elevator industry or third-party applications to process and analyze data and generate alarms about faults in real time. The solution achieves predictive maintenance through in-depth learning based on cloud Big Data, fault identification based on artificial intelligence, and health evaluation.

  • High-level management and centralized O&M of devices

The solution provides cloud-based centralized management and visualized O&M. It manages millions of elevators, implementing remote management and predictive maintenance, reducing the maintenance costs and elevator failure rate, and ensuring the safety of passengers.

  • Converged gateway, open architecture, and innovative VASs

The All-in-One IoT gateways integrate computing, storage, voice, and data functions. They can connect to cameras and advertising screens, and are open to third-party ISVs through the Agile Controller. They provide VASs, such as advertising media and traffic operation for elevator vendors.

Huawei hopes to cooperate with elevator vendors to promote the construction of Smart City, make elevators more secure, and create a better life.
