Huawei Unveils E2E Cybersecurity Technology at ISF 2017 to Build a Road to Secure Digital Transformation

[Cannes, France, October 28, 2017] As a Platinum Sponsor, Huawei attended the Information Security Forum (ISF) annual congress, held in Cannes, France, from October 28 to 31. Adhering to the concept of 'Leading New ICT, the Road to Secure Digital Transformation', Huawei exhibited its latest security technology capabilities in fields of cloud computing, Big Data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) and Cloud Fabric Security Solution. In the coming smart era, cybersecurity assurance must ensure the security of integrated solutions, not merely individual products. Huawei has attached great importance to the security of customers' networks and services, and regarded building and fully implementing an E2E global cybersecurity assurance system as a key development strategy.

By 2020 there will be over 50 billion connected IoT devices, making networks more open and complex. At the forum, Vladimir M. Yordanov delivered an impressive speech Building a Secure Internet of Things World: How Billions of Connected Devices Are Transforming the Cybersecurity Landscape. Vladimir M. Yordanov said, "While the IoT takes us into a new world with everything perceptible, connected, and intelligent, major security challenges have already emerged. While many traditional IoT security methods still apply, a new multi-layered E2E security system is required. For these challenges, Huawei introduces 3T+1M concept: 3 key security technologies and 1 process capability are essential: 

  • From the device viewpoint: configurable device defense capability; 
  • From the network viewpoint: malicious device detection and isolation; 
  • From the platform viewpoint: platform and data protection; 
  • From the process viewpoint: secure operations and management. 

Huawei is providing security capabilities in these areas, and supports its customers in getting the security guarantees they need."

Cloud, Big Data, IoT, and mobility technologies are driving ICT transformation while presenting huge security challenges. In response, Huawei showcased Cloud Fabric Security Solution, its security capabilities in fields of cloud computing and Big Data, and industrial application practices.

Huawei focused on demonstrating the following solutions:

  • Cloud Fabric Security Solution helps customers quickly resolve edge, data transmission, and user access security issues arising from digital business transformation. The solution enables intelligent, flexible, and trusted security protection for cloud data center networks and tenants.
  • Huawei security technology capabilities: Huawei has established a comprehensive security technology system. The security engineering technology makes sure related activities can be conducted effectively to build the security competitiveness of products and solutions. For example, trusted computing and system integrity technologies protect the system to prevent unauthorized changes. Encrypted data processing technology ensures that user data can only be handled by users themselves and the cloud only stores encrypted text to ensure user data security. Lightweight encryption provides an encryption scheme for scenarios with limited IoT devices to ensure data communication security. Escape detection technology makes virtual machines detect attacks on the cloud platform to protect the platform.

On the road to the smart era, the technical solution, management methodology, and awareness development of cybersecurity and privacy protection are prerequisites to the sustainable development of the ICT industry. Huawei will work with stakeholders on the industry chain to improve cybersecurity and privacy protection and protect people's security and privacy when they are enjoying convenience brought by emerging technologies.
