PTG is a new event organized by the OpenStack Foundation. It will be held every six months (Q1 and Q3) for only open-source contributors. At the beginning of the development phase of a release cycle, members will meet in person to discuss the priorities of the upcoming cycle, iterate solutions for complex issues, and make fast progress on critical items. PTG will help establish a reliable partnership among developers for next six months' collaboration.

As a Gold member in the OpenStack community and significant sponsor of PTG, Huawei leverages its commercial practices in OpenStack public and private services as well as NFVI to promote the innovation of the community and enable the community to fully grasp customers' requirements. At this PTG meeting, Huawei discussed core projects including Defcore & interoperability, public cloud, and architecture with numerous work teams. Huawei also exchanged ideas with community developers on interoperability standards, API capability discovery mechanism, cross-projects infrastructure, and project requirements. By doing so, Huawei reached a general agreement with other participants and laid down a solid foundation for the next release to better provide enterprise services and public cloud services, improve interoperability standards and industrial ecosystem, meet commercial requirements, and improve collaboration efficiency.

Huawei is proud supporter of OpenStack. From June, 2013 to 2017, Huawei generously contributed to the development of code from the Grizzly to Ocata releases.  Huawei continues its contribution ranking among commercial core projects and ranks first over the world in terms of Completed Blueprints. Generally, Huawei ranks first in overall contributions among Chinese contributors on the community (statistics of February, 2017 from http://stackalytics.com). Huawei is re-elected as Director of the Board and has six PTLs (Project Team Lead) and twenty Core Members.

Jiang Xiaoli, Huawei OpenStack & Container open-source Manager, said:" Huawei fully welcomes open source and sticks to the strategy of basing on open source, introducing enhancements to open source, making contributions to open source, and working with partners to build an open ecosystem. Huawei aims to build an open and mutually beneficial cloud computing ecosystem to boost the digital transformation of enterprises and carriers."
